For Philippe Starck, Miss Trip aims to satisfy two aspects: modernity by using synthetic materials for the seat instead of traditionnal solid wood thus achieving lightness and economy of material, and emotional by using some wood , albeit plywood for the legs and back where it is least bulky. When fully disassembled, Miss Trip fits into a small box.
Miss Trip marks a new maturity in Starck's work which has given rise to particularly elegant and rational forms. This playful, unpretentious dining chair is Phillipe Starck at his best. Light-weight and comfortable, Miss Trip cleverly suits both formal and informal tables. It comes in either beech or cherry wood with SMC plastic painted with scratch-proof polyurethene paint in ivory, cream, coffee, sage or cloud blue. Kartell technology allows two materials that are by their nature incompatible to be harmoniously combined: plastic and wood.
Miss Trip chair has a plastic seat supported by beech hardwood, natural or dyed cherry legs. The back is also grafted onto the seat by simply applying pressure and the natural elasticity of the material offers a pleasant sensation of comfort. Miss Trip, ideal for any setting in the home, but also for restaurants and cafés, is characterised by elegance of design and ease of assembly. With the Miss Trap table, Miss Trip receives its direct compositional complement, offering a complete furnishing system.
